What is Grade C?
If you are looking to buy silver and gold with low premiums over spot then we would recommend our Grade C collection.
Why Do You Sell Grade C?
On occasions we may receive in stock coins which may not be up to what we would consider "bullion standard". We only offer this product when available. We think they are too good to scrap, especially if the coins or bars are minted with nice and unusual designs. We therefore sell them as Grade C rather than bullion. We chose the "C" grade just to clarify how far from "bullion condition" they may be.
What is Grade C?
Grade C may have but not limited to the following,
- Deep scratches
- Severe Edge Knocks
- Ex Jewellery (Mount Marks and Highly Polished)
- Damaged Packaging
- Heavy Bagmarks
Bullion vs Grade C
The imperfections on Grade C items allows us to offer them at a lower premium than our already low premiums on bullion products. Although the Grade C coins and bars may have the above "defects" it does not take away from the technical specifications. They will normally weigh on the lower side of the tolerance allowance of the coin/bar. We would recommend purchasing Grade C coins if you are perhaps needing the gold to melt down or you would like to mount the coin in jewellery. Although they will carry lower premiums over their precious metal content than their bullion counterparts, we may offer a lower price for you to sell them back. That said, we would recommend purchasing our Best Value bullion coins for investment purposes.
Buy Back Prices
Buy back prices will more often than not be lower than bullion buy back prices but generally higher than scrap price. Our buy back prices will change depending on our stock levels and live prices of precious metals. Overall, grade C products may not be the best investment if you take into account buy back prices.
Grade C Coins For Sale
We offer the following grade C gold coins for sale, from as low as 1% above the spot price:
We do not recommend these coins as an investment item and they should not be resold as bullion coins. If, however, you are looking to buy gold at a very low premium above spot, to melt down or to use in jewellery then these coins are a great buy. You'll unlikely find cheaper gold coins anywhere else!
