The living wage foundation is an independent organisation that promotes fair wages that reflect the true cost of living, ensuring that staff are compensated in a way that allows them to meet their everyday needs, such as housing, food, and other essentials.

North West

Sixty years ago, we established our base of operations in Blackpool, the hometown of Lawrence Chard. Blackpool is renowned for its iconic Blackpool Rock, Tower, and stunning seaside beaches. Over the past sixty years, we have moved to progressively larger premises, allowing us to expand our facilities and hire more staff. In 2014, we relocated to Harrowside, Blackpool, a modern facility, and since then, our staff numbers have more than doubled as we’ve continued to grow.

Today, everyone working for us in the North West receives a minimum hourly wage, that exceeds the government minimum for over-21s. Additionally, in the North West of England, 13.5% of all jobs pay less than the real living wage, or around 397,000 jobs. However, as part of our core values, everyone who works for us should receive fair pay.

London

As an accredited Living Wage Employer, this commitment also extends to the staff we hire for our London office. Our London premises is located in the famous and prestigious Hatton Garden, the heart of the trading hub for precious metals and jewellery. Due to the higher cost of living in London, employees can expect to receive an hourly wage well above the government minimum for over-21s. Currently, 13.3% of all jobs in London pay less than the real living wage, affecting around 574,000 positions.

Before we renovated our Blackpool headquarters, the upstairs was once a dance studio, and we kept the glitter ball as a nod to the building's past.
