More Info

The gold proof coin comes in a presentation box. It contains a colourful booklet about the work of Jane Austen, as well as a certificate of authenticity issued by the Royal Mint.

Jane Austen was born in 1775, in Hampshire. Before the age of 20, Austen began writing her first novel. Her writing concentrated on the lot of women in the Regency period. Her witty interpretation of everyday life centered around the landed gentry, in particular women who depended on marriage for both financial security and social standing. Her best known works include Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Mansfield Park and Emma which continue to be popular over 200 years after they were first published.

We also sell the silver proof and brilliant uncirculated versions of this two pound coin.
