The 2017 gold proof £1 coins have a limited edition mintage figure (meaning the amount issued in individual presentation boxes) of 2017.

Obverse

The obverse design is the fifth coinage portrait of Elizabeth II by Jody Clark. The inscription reads 2017 · ELIZABETH II · D · G · REG · F · D. It has a laser-micro inscribed £ symbol on a fine lined background inside a small shield which has a hologram effect - when tilted it reveals a 1 symbol.

Reverse

The general public was given the opportunity to design the reverse of the coin. The winner was 15 year old schoolboy, David Pearce, whose entry was the Nations of the Crown. This features a floral design, representing each os the four nations of the United Kingdom. The rose for England, the leek for Wales, the thistle for Scotland and a shamrock for Northern Ireland.

Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
