This silver coin commemorates the 90th Birthday of Queen Elizabeth II, and contains five ounces of silver. This proof coin comes presented in a luxury box. The Royal Mint price on this coin is £415, but they have sold out.
Queen Elizabeth II is the first British monarch to celebrate their 90th birthday. This was another great milestone event for Elizabeth, who became the longest reigining British monarch in 2015.
The Queen's actual birthday is on the 21st of April. Her official birthday is celebrated on a Saturday in June.
The obverse of the coin shows the fifth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, by Jody Clark.
The coin was designed by the painter and sculptor, Christopher Hobbs, whose mosaics have appeared in Westminster Cathedral. The design was inspired by the rose of England and The Queen's love of flowers. It shows nine roses, one for each decade of her life.
