The Royal Mint have released a series of coins to commemorate the life and works of Beatrix Potter. The other coins in the series feature Mrs Tiggy-Winkle, Peter Rabbit and Jemima Puddle-Duck.
The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin tells the story of a squirrel whose teasing nature costs him most of his tail. The story was published in August, 1903. The brilliant uncirculated coin comes in a colourful presentation folder.
Mintage for the 2016 Squirrel Nutkin 50p circulation coin that you will find in your change is 5,000,000.

The reverse shows Squirrel Nutkin. It was designed by the Royal Mint engraver, Emma Noble, who has designed the other coins in the series. The silver proof version of the coin is coloured, whereas the uncirculated coin is not.
