History of Bulmint

Bulmint, founded in 2004, is a private Bulgarian mint, refinery, and industrial processor specialising in precious metals. After 20 years, Bulmint began distributing their first gold and silver coins, featuring the Phoenix bird. The coins are available in 1-ounce and smaller fractional sizes in gold.

Security Features of Phoenix Coins

For investors, a concealed security feature is incorporated into the fiery design, revealing Bulmint's logo when viewed from various angles to authenticate the coin and prevent counterfeiting.

Phoenix Mythology

'From it's ashes a young Phoenix is born' or so the mythical tales say. The Phoenix is tied to Greek, Egyptian, and Persian mythology and is thought to symbolise immortality and renewal due to the Phoenix said to regenerate after death.

The legends of the firebird place it's origin thousands of years ago. After living for over 500 years, the bird flies to Heliopolis, Egypt, known as the "City of the Sun". Here, the bird gathers cinnamon twigs and resin to build a nest atop the Temple before setting the nest ablaze. The old worn bird dies engulfed in flames before being reborn once again.

Legacy of Jody Clark

Becoming the youngest designer to produce a coinage portrait of the Queen, Clark had only been working as an engraver at The Royal Mint for two years prior to an opportunity to produce the famed effigy arose. Entering a competition to create the prominent design on a whim, Clark became the first engraver from The Royal Mint selected to create such portraiture in over 100 years.

In 2020, after eight years, Jody opted to leave The Royal Mint to work for a private company. Since then, he has designed many more coins, including the KCIII coinage portrait featured on these Phoenix coins.

Obverse

The obverse depicts the coinage effigy of King Charles III designed by British engraver Jody Clark, best known for creating the fifth and final definitive coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.

In addition, the coin bears an inscription that reads:

CHARLES III · NIUE · TWO DOLLARS · 2024 ·

Reverse

The reverse features the mythical Phoenix bird surrounded by flames, symbolising its potential rebirth.

Encircling the design is a matte circle displaying the technical specifications of the silver coin:

SILVER PHOENIX 1oz FINE SILVER 999
