After three years of the First World War, in 1917 the Royal Family decided to cut ties with their German family name of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and to become known as the House of Windsor. The 100th Anniversary of the House of Windsor is celebrated with an official coin - the 2017 Centenary of the House of Windsor Crown.

This splendid coin features a reverse engraving by Timothy Noad, Herald Painter at HM College of Arms and Scribe to the House of Lords. The design combines a wreath of oak leaves, the Round Tower of Windsor Castle and the Imperial Crown with an inscription of:

CENTENARY OF THE HOUSE OF WINDSOR 2017

The edge is inscribed with:

CHRISTENING OF A DYNASTY

We are also stocking the Brilliant Uncirculated and the Gold Proof crowns.
