This 1 ounce Japanese trade dollar is one of only 200 issued by the East India Company and is a tribute to a currency born out of commerce and trade.

Struck in 999.9 fine gold, the Japanese trade dollar is the fourth issue in the trade dollar series after the British, US and Chinese trade dollars.

Obverse

The obverse features Ian Rank-Broadley's effigy of HM Queen Elizabeth II and a patterned design, which features on all of the East India Company's trade dollar series.

Reverse

The reverse features a dragon design as seen on the original trade dollars.

Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
