This 1913 sovereign was issued by the Melbourne mint, one of the Australian branches of the Royal Mint. This is an original 22 carat gold coin with a portrait of King George on the obverse and the classic St George and the Dragon engraving on the reverse.

The obverse of the coin shows the portrait of George V as designed by Australian designer Bertram Mackennal. The coin bears the inscription GEORGIVS V D.G.BRITT:OMN:REX F.D.IND:IMP:
This 1913 sovereign was issued by the Melbourne mint in Australia, the reverse of the coin shows Benedetto Pistrucci's St George and the Dragon which first appeared on sovereigns in 1817. The "M" mint mark can be seen above the date on the reverse of the sovereign coin.
