We have already seen that Britannia, in the guise of a third farthing, took a holiday in Malta. She also surfaced in the Island of Ionia, near the birthplace of coins, in the form of a Lepton, another small bronze coin.

During the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century, at the height of the British Empire, she paid visits to many foreign lands, sometimes in the form of tokens.
There were half and stuiver tokens issued for (COLONIES OF ESSEQUEBO & DEMARARY TOKEN) British Guiana (now Guyana) dated 1813 Æ Stiver Token 33mm. 14.37g. Laureate and draped bust of George III left. PURE COPPER PREFERABLE TO PAPER Sage seated left on bale, holding olive sprig and caduceus. TRADE & NAVIGATION KM Tn3 Glossy brown surfaces.
