This is the 2021 10 oz Silver Queen's Beasts White Lion of Mortimer Silver Bullion Coin. This is the eighth release in the 10 oz bullion coin series.

Struck from 999.9 fine silver. Each coin contains 10 troy ounces (321.51g) of the precious metal.

These coins are pound sterling coins, meaning they are exempt from capital gains tax for UK residents. They have a face value of £10 and are legal tender.

Queen's Beasts

The Queen's Beasts are a series of ten statues that were created for Elizabeth II's coronation at Westmnister Abbey in 1953. They combine heraldic elements and mythical creatures which form a part of the Queen's royal ancestry. The Royal Mint launched their Queen's Beasts bullion range in 2016. The first coin featured a lion.

Obverse

The obverse was designed by Jody Clark and shows the fifth coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.

Reverse

The reverse was also designed by Jody Clark, whose initials appear at the bottom of the coin. It design shows a lion holding a shield. Unlike the Lion of England coin, the Lion of Mortimer is shown without a crown.

The shield the lion is holding uses parts of the seals of Edward IV and Richard III. It shows a rose over the sun.
