The 2020 Tower of London - Royal Menagerie £5 Coin is the 2nd release in the 2020 Tower of London Coin Series. 

The coin is struck from base metal and issued in a brilliant uncirculated finish, in a colourful presentation folder. 

The coin features the Tower of London mintmark, which appears on all 4 coins in the series. 

The Royal Menagerie

The Royal Menagerie at the Tower of London was effectively London's first zoo. Elephants, lions, monkeys and even a polar bear once called the tower their home.

The Privy Council

We first found out about this coin from The Privy Council. There will be a total of four coins in this series. The coins will feature a Yeoman Warder’s mace, heraldic lions, medieval penny and "MY · LIBERTIE DENIED" (an inscription from the bell tower), all set against a Roman arch window. 

Obverse

The obverse was designed by Jody Clark. It shows the fifth coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. 

Reverse

The reverse was designed by artist, Timothy Noad. It features three lions in a heraldic design. All four designs in the series feature the Norman arched window.

    Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
