The 2018 The Tale of Peter Rabbit coloured silver proof fifty pence comes in a perspex display mount and a presentation box with a certificate of authenticity. Struck in 0.925 sterling silver, this attractive coin is a favourite with coin collectors.
This is the third Peter Rabbit coin to have been produced, and the first coin in the 2018 series of Beatrix Potter 50p's. The other coins will feature Flopsy Bunny, The Tale of Gloucester and Mrs Tittlemouse.
After the success of the 2016 Beatrix Potter Fifty Pence Series, The Royal Mint have decided to continue the series with a third series in 2018 starting with The Tale of Peter Rabbit 50p coin. Designed by Emma Noble, this Peter Rabbit coin comes presented in a perspex block. It is issued with a certificate of authenticity.
To celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Birth of Beatrix Potter in 2016, The Royal Mint released a series of fifty pence coins. The 2016 Peter Rabbit fifty pence was highly sought after by coin collectors and demand was high for the coin in all finishes; the coloured silver proof, the brilliant uncirculated and the circulation fifty pence, with collectors paying vast amounts to add the coins to their collections.
The obverse bears the Jody Clark portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
The reverse shows a coloured image of The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Emma Noble.
