These 2016 1 oz Gold Britannia Bullion Coins were issued by the Royal Mint. The coins come sealed in sleeves.
The coins are struck in 24 carat gold (999.9 fineness) and contains one troy ounce of gold. The obverse of this coin was designed by visual artist, Philip Nathan.
This coin is British legal tender, exempt from Capital Gains Tax and VAT-free.

Lady Britannia is a personification of Britain. She is portrayed as a helmeted female warrior holding a trident and a shield. Britannia was the name applied to the British Isles, Great Britain, and the Roman province of Britain during the roman era.
The obverse features the new fifth portrait of the Queen designed by Royal Mint engraver Jody Clark. The obverse also features an inscription that reads as:
REG · F · D · 100 POUNDS · ELIZABETH II · D · G ·
The bottom of the obverse contains the initials "JC" for Jody Clark.
The design features the classic standing Britannia. The reverse of the coin also features an inscription that reads as:
'2016' 1oz '999.9 'FINE 'GOLD'
The bottom of the reverse contains Philip Nathan's surname 'Nathan'.
