These silver bullion coins are issued by the Perth Mint in Australia who are known for their beautiful designs and high quality coins.

The design on the koala coins changes each year, making them appealing to both collectors and investors. Whilst koalas are often referred to as 'koala bears', they are in fact marsupials. Their young are born underdeveloped and therefore mature within the safety of their mothers pouch. Their correct name is simply 'koalas'. Although they have an image of being cute and cuddly, as with most wild animals, koalas can be fierce if disturbed or provoked.
