Reverse Designs of 2005 & 2006 Gold Proof Half Sovereign Set

The design depicted on the 2005 half sovereign reverse is a modern interpretation of St George and the dragon, by Timothy Noad. It was adapted by Benedetto Pistrucci’s iconic reverse design, which appears on the 2006 half-sovereign.

The issue limit of the 2005 gold half-sovereign is 7,500, with just 5,000 of the 2006-half sovereigns. This set has a total limited edition presentation of just 750 sets.

Obverse

Both half-sovereigns in this set include the fourth portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley.

Reverse

The half-sovereigns featured in this set both show two different interpretations of St George and the dragon design.

Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
