Queen Elizabeth II's Coronation

Elizabeth II became the Queen on 6th February, 1952. She was not officially crowned until 2nd June, 1953.

Obverse

The obverse features the young Queen Elizabeth II at her coronation. Her majesty is seated on the throne holding the sceptre with the cross and the rod with the dove. The legend reads as:

Reverse

The reverse of the coin copies its 500-year sovereign counterpart. The Royal Arms shield is surmounted by the royal crown, both images are superimposed upon a double Tudor rose. The inscription reads as:
