Buy the 1983 Chinese Panda Quarter Ounce Gold Coin
This is the second year the Panda was issued. Minted in both gold and silver, the Panda is a bullion coin issued as an investment coin by the People's Republic of China. Primarily minted to meet the global demand for precious metals, it was actually illegal to own gold Pandas in China until 2004. The Panda is a favourite with coin collectors all over the world. Early issues are highly sought after as collector grade coins are not always available and are usually sold for very high premiums.
Now, China, is one of the largest markets in the world and the Chinese government encourage the ownership of precious metals. In 1983, the gold Panda was issued in five sizes; one ounce, half ounce, quarter ounce, tenth ounce and twentieth ounce. The 1983 quarter ounce gold Panda has a face value of 25 Yuan.
