The Scottsdale Mint is a relatively new company, having only being established in 2008. They are based in Arizona in the United States.

The inspiration for this one ounce silver round is the historic "pieces of eight" coin, which are best known as the world's first global currency. These coins were produced by the Spanish Empire and were widely circulated around the world between the 16th century and the 18th century.

The Omnia Round replica is the Scottsdale Mint's tribute to this historic coin.

These investment silver products are known as "rounds" becasue they have no denomination. They are issued by private institutions.

This is a great opportunity to purchase investment silver at a reduced rate of VAT. These one ounce silver rounds are sold on a marginal rate scheme known in the industry as the 'special scheme'. This means that when we sell second hand silver you will only pay VAT on the dealer's margin.

Obverse

The Obverse depicts the crowned Scottsdale lion logo. Beneath the lion is the inscription:

"SCOTTSDALE SILVER"

Reverse

The Reverse shows a cob-era cross. From top to bottom, the inscription reads:

"1 TROY OZ. SILVER 99.9% PURE"

"IN OMNIAS PARATUS"

The Latin can be translated as "ready for anything" or "prepared in all things".
