Wallace and Gromit

Created by Nick Park, the claymation series follows the adventures of cheese-loving inventor Wallace, and his anthropomorphic canine sidekick, Gromit.

The duo have first graced our television screens in 1989 in the film A Grand Day Out. Since then they have appeared in a total of four short films, a feature length film, a theme park ride at Blackpool's Pleasure Beach, several video games, comic books and even a play. It's fair to say they are loved by the nation!

Obverse

The obverse features the fifth coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II designed by, Jody Clark.

Reverse

The reverse was designed by Wallace and Gromit creator, Nick Park. The coin shows the duo looking out of a porthole of a rocket.

The top of the coin has the latin inscription:

"CASEUS PRAESTANS"

This translates to:

"CRACKING CHEESE"
