Grade C gold Mexican 50 Pesos coins.
These gold coins are not good enough for us to sell as our usual secondary market bullion 50 pesos but they are too good to scrap, which means we can offer them at extremely low premiums!
These coins are 0.900 in fineness and each contain 1.2057 ounces of gold. We do not recommend these coins as an investment item as they have defects like deep scratches, mount marks, polishing marks or red spots.
These coins are what some of our competitors sell as 'bullion' with little quality control, which is why some of our competitors sometimes appear to have lower prices than us. If you can buy these coins from less than our price, it is probably because they are substandard, possibly even fake. It seems some of our competitors, mainly newer ones, can't tell the difference or don't care.
Mexican gold fifty pesos, also known as Centenario, are some of the earliest large gold bullion coins. They were introduced in 1921, pre-dating the South African Krugerrand by 46 years.
The obverse features The Angel of Independence - a famous monument based in Mexico City. The statue was unveiled in 1910 to commemorate the first 100 years of Mexican Independence.
The reverse shows Mexico's Coat of Arms, which consists of an eagle with a snake in its beak. This is based on Aztec legend, where they would build their city based on the location where they witnessed an eagle eating a snake on a lake. The Mexican Coat of Arms is also prominently featured in the centre of the Mexican flag.

If your product is not a graded coin and is considered a bullion item, it should be noted that these are bought and sold on low premiums over their precious metal content and not solely for aesthetic purposes; therefore, some products may have edge knocks and/or marks. These edge knocks and marks do not alter the specifications of the coins.
