1999 - 2010 Chinese Lunar 1 oz Silver 12-Coin Set

Collect all coins in The Perth Mint's Lunar Series I with this silver coin set! Each coin features one of the Chinese lunar animals on the reverse, Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse.

These bullion coins are struck from 999 fine silver and have a face value of 1 AUD.

Issued in individual capsules. Please note, these coins do not come in a presentation box.

Perth Mint Lunar Coins

In 1996, The Perth Mint started issuing gold coins based on the Chinese Lunar animal. After the success of the gold version, a silver lunar series was introduced in 1999.

Each coin celebrates a different Chinese zodiac sign, with each cycle lasting 12 years. Since the lunar coins were introduced they have proven to be highly collectable, with most sizes selling out quickly.

Obverse

The obverse of the coins features the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The text reads:

Reverse

The reverse designs feature the Chinese Lunar animal, the Chinese symbol for the animal and the year. The text reads "1 OZ 999 SILVER".

These may have minor scratches or edge knocks, but this does not affect their value. Any coin sold for a value less than a 180% intrinsic is considered a bullion coin.
VAT:
Investment gold products are VAT-free, while silver products include VAT.
Cancellations & Returns:
Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
