2013 5 oz Silver Reverse Proof Maple Leaf Coin - 25th Anniversary.

To celebrate 25 years since the first release of the silver maple leaf coin, the Royal Canadian Mint issued a five ounce silver coin with a special proof engraving on the reverse side.

The coin is struck in 999.9 fine silver and comes complete with presentation box and certificate of authenticity. It has an issue limit of just 2,500 coins, making it an excellent addition to any world coin collection.

Silver Maple Leaf Coins

Following the success of the maple leaf gold bullion coins introduced in 1979, the Royal Canadian Mint started in 1988 to produce a one ounce silver maple leaf coin. As with the gold version which are struck in fine gold, the silver maples are struck in fine silver with a purity of 99.99%.

Reverse Proof

According to the Royal Canadian Mint, this is the first ever coin to feature a reverse proof finish.

Obverse

The third definitive portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II is shown on the coin's obverse, in a tribute to the obverse portrait on the 1988 silver maples. The inscription reads:

Reverse

The reverse, struck to a proof standard, shows a special engraving of a Canadian maple leaf by Arnold Nogy. The inscription reads:

Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
