Authentication Feature on Chinese Lunar Goat Coins

The gold 1 oz, 2 oz, and 10 oz Year of the Goat coins feature a micro-engraved mintmark. This significantly increases the coin’s resistance to counterfeiting, as the mark is only visible under a magnifying glass.

The Significance of the Chinese Lunar Goat

Each lunar year is tied to an element: fire, water, metal, wood and earth, with 2027 being the year of the fire goat.

Those born under the sign of the Chinese Lunar Goat in 2027, 2015, 2003, 1991, 1979 and every 12th preceding year are said to be gentle, creative, and compassionate.

Known for their calm nature and resilience, they are often admired for their artistic talents and thoughtful approach to life.

Obverse

The obverse features the commonwealth portrait of His Majesty King Charles III, designed by Daniel Thorne.

Reverse

The reverse of the 0.25 oz Gold ‘Year of the Goat’ coin features a proud mountain goat, stood tall amongst a rocky outcrop, designed by Wade Robinson.

Also depicted is the Chinese character for "Goat" with the year 2027 below, and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark to the left of the rocks.
