Due to the NGC processing timeline and delivery timeframes, we expect to receive graded variants by approximately July/August 2026. Please register your interest to be among the first to know once stock is available for purchase.

During a routine goods-in inspection procedure on Tuesday, 17th March 2026, our warehouse team identified slight discrepancies between the expected and actual weights on some of the monster boxes for a 2026 1 oz Silver Britannia delivery.

Upon a further and intricate review of each tube and individual coin, we discovered that just over 200 coins were in-fact minted in cupronickel (as present in commemorative base metal coins) and not the expected Silver. The full story can be found in our blog, Base Metal "1 oz Silver" Britannia Coins - The Facts.

We are now pleased to offer the opportunity to purchase these historic error coins. As far as we are aware, these are the only coins of their kind and as such are available whilst stocks last, with a limit of 1 coin per order.

Please note: These coins do not contain any silver or precious metal and are offered solely as a collectable item with no value as an investment bullion product.

Due to the nature of these coins as a minting error, there may be scratches or marks present as the machines were not calibrated for base metal blanks.

Base Metal "Silver" Britannias - The Facts

History of Britannia

Lady Britannia made her first appearance on Roman coins in AD 119 during the Roman era under the rule of Emperor Hadrian but disappeared after the collapse of the Roman Empire. She reappeared during the reign of King Charles II, and Britannia has since featured on every subsequent British monarch.

Cupronickel

Cupronickel (CuNi) is an alloy of copper and nickel, typically used for The Royal Mint's base metal commemorative coin releases.
