2022 Tudor Beasts Seymour Panther Brilliant Uncirculated Base Metal £5 Coin
The first release in the new Royal Tudor Beasts 10-part series! These base metal coins are based on a set of heraldic statues, which represent King Henry VIII's Tudor heritage.
The reverse was designed by David Lawrence, and features the Seymour Panther. The fiery animal is shown holding the Seymour Arms.
This cupro-nickel brilliant uncirculated coin comes issued in a presentation folder.
The Tudor Beasts (also know as the King's Beasts) are a series of heraldic statues, which flank the moat bridge at Hampton Court Palace. The ten statues represent King Henry VIII's Tudor ancestry and his marriage to his third wife, Jane Seymour.
The Seymour Panther was named after Jane Seymour. The beast was gifted to Jane by the King as a way to signify the union between the couple.
The obverse shows a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark.

The reverse of the Tudor Beast coins were designed by artist, David Lawrence. The Seymour Panther is shown with flames coming out of its mouth and ears.
The panther is holding a shield displaying the Arms of Seymour. The arms consist of two wings, conjoined. The text reads:
