2022 Tudor Beasts Seymour Panther Ten Ounce Silver Proof Coin

This Seymour Panther coin is the first release in the new Royal Tudor Beasts 10-part series! Each coin features a design based on the heraldic statues, which represent King Henry VIII's Tudor heritage.

Designed by David Lawrence, the reverse of this Royal Mint silver coin features the Seymour Panther. Named after Henry VIII's third wife, Jane Seymour, the fiery animal is depicted holding the Seymour Arms.

This silver Tudor Beasts coin is struck from 999 fine silver and struck to a proof finish. This beautiful coin comes issued in a luxury presentation box, with a certificate of authenticity.

The coin has a limited edition presentation of 150 coins, with a maximum mintage of 156 coins.

The Tudor Beasts

The Tudor Beasts (also know as the King's Beasts) are a series of heraldic statues, which flank the moat bridge at Hampton Court Palace. The ten statues represent King Henry VIII's Tudor ancestry and his marriage to his third wife, Jane Seymour.

The Seymour Panther

The Seymour Panther was named after Jane Seymour. The beast was gifted to Jane by the King as a way to signify the union between the couple.

Obverse

The obverse of this ten ounce silver proof coin shows the fifth coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, which was designed by Jody Clark.

Reverse

The reverse of the Tudor Beast coins was designed by Royal Mint artist, David Lawrence.

The fierce Seymour Panther is depicted with flames coming out of its mouth and ears. It is holding a shield showing the Arms of Seymour, which consists of two wings conjoined. The text reads:

Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
