This 2022 50 Years of Pride Silver Proof 50p Coin is issued by the Royal Mint.

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Pride UK with this commemorative coin. This is the first time UK Pride has been honoured on a UK coin!

The colourful design is by artist and writer, Dominique Holmes and incorporates the LGBTQ+ flag.

Struck from 0.925 sterling silver, this coin is issued in a presentation box, along with a booklet and numbered certificate of authenticity from the Royal Mint.

Only 4,955 of these coins will be issued, with just 4,000 in this limited edition presentation.

Pride Parade

The first UK Pride event took place in London, on 1st July 1972. Around 2,000 people marched through the city streets, travelling from Hyde Park to Trafalgar Square. With the last few Pride UK events being cancelled due to government restrictions, the celebrations are set to return in 2022 - just in time for the 50th anniversary celebration!

The obverse shows the Jody Clark portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.

Reverse

The reverse of the coin was designed by LGBTQ+ activist Dominique Holmes. The design shows a series of rainbows, with the words 'PROTEST', 'VISIBILITY', 'PRIDE', 'UNITY' and 'EQUALITY'.

The five-coloured chevron is taken from the LGBTQ+ flag and represents inclusion and progression.

Cancellations & Returns:
Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
