This 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games Silver Proof Piedfort 50p Coin was issued by the Royal Mint.
In 2022, the Commonwealth Games will return to England for only the third time in its 92-year history!
These sterling silver coins celebrate the Birmingham games and feature a brand new design by Natasha Preece.
This piedfort coin is double the weight and thickness of a standard fifty pence coin. It weighs 16g and contains 0.476 troy ounces of the precious metal.
Each coin comes in a presentation box, along with an information booklet and a certificate of authenticity from the Royal Mint. Only 1,250 of these coins have been issued in this limited edition presentation.
The Commonwealth Games take place every four years, with the 2022 games being held in Birmingham. This is only the third time the games have been hosted by England, having taken place in London in 1934 and Manchester in 2002.
The 2022 games begin on 28th July, with 72 Commonwealth nations competing in 22 different sports.
The obverse features Jody Clark's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.

All investment products are based on the live precious metal price. Prices will be fixed once the item has been added to the basket and recalculates just before checking out.
If your product is not a graded coin and is considered a bullion item, it should be noted that these are bought and sold on low premiums over their precious metal content and not solely for aesthetic purposes; therefore, some products may have edge knocks and/or marks. These edge knocks and marks do not alter the specifications of the coins.
