2022 Gold Commonwealth Games 50 Pence Coin

These 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games Gold Proof 50p Coins were issued by the Royal Mint.

These 22 carat gold proof coins celebrate the Birmingham games and feature a brand new design by Natasha Preece.

2022 saw the Commonwealth Games return to England for only the third time in its 92-year history.

The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games

The Commonwealth Games take place every 4 years, with the 2022 games being held in Birmingham. This is only the third time the games have been hosted by England, having taken place in London in 1934 and Manchester in 2002. The 2022 games start on 28th July, when 72 Commonwealth nations will compete in 22 different sports.

Reverse

Designed by Royal Mint artist, Natasha Preece the reverse design comprises of geometric shapes, and incorporates elements of the Commonwealth Games logo. Natasha Preece's initial "NP" can be found on the right-hand side of the coin. The text reads:

VAT:
Investment gold products are VAT-free, while silver products include VAT.
Cancellations & Returns:
Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
