What Are Minty Bullion Coins?

Minty coins are our hand-picked selection of bullion coins that are in mint condition and usually, but not always, have been minted in recent years. These coins may have slight toning and/or milk spots, which is a natural process and does not take away from the their bullion value. They may also have very slight production marks, which is the case for the latest bullion coins too. Any coins with more severe scratches and scuff marks would be classed as secondary market. Please note that 'minty' is not a traditional grade.

Cheap Krugerrands

This is a great opportunity to purchase investment silver at cheap prices. These one ounce silver coins are sold on a marginal rate scheme known in the industry as the 'special scheme'. This means that when we sell second hand silver you will only pay VAT on the dealer's margin.

Silver Krugerrands

Following on from the success of the gold Krugerrands (the original one ounce bullion coin) the South African Mint, together with Rand Refinery, began issuing silver Krugerrands in 2017 in the form of a 'premium uncirculated' coin. This coincided with the 50th anniversary of first Krugerrand coin.

The first bullion silver Krugerrands were issued in 2018.

Obverse

The obverse features the classic portrait of Boer President Paul Kruger with the inscription in Afrikaans and English:

Reverse

The reverse bears the iconic springbok, the national animal of South Africa. The coin bears the inscription with the date split either side of the antelope:

Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
