This is the 2021 Silver Panda Coin. The reverse design on these panda coins changes each year, with the 2021 coin featuring a mother and baby panda climbing a tree.
This coin is struck from 999 fine silver and contains 30 grams (0.965 troy ounce) of the precious metal. Issued by the People's Bank of China, the 30g coin has a face value of 10 yuan. They have a maximum mintage of 10,000,000.
These coins are issued by the People's Bank of China in protective capsules. If you purchase 15 coins you will receive a free storage tray.
Most major global mints issue coins in troy weights, however, the People's Bank of China have used metric weights since 2016.
Demand for the Chinese Panda is not limited to the home market in China. Collectors eagerly await the release of Pandas each year and older issues are highly prized.
The obverse was designed by the China Gold Coin Incorporation (CGCI) and shows the Temple of Heaven. Located in Peking, the site of worship is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Chinese inscription for "People's Republic of China" appears above the coin, with the date "2021" underneath.
The reverse shows a mother and baby panda on a tree branch. It was designed by coin artist Tong Fang. The coin denomination of 10 Yuan is featured to the right of the pandas.
