Kookaburra Coins

The kookaburra coins were first introduced in 1990. In its first year, the 300,000 issue limit of the coins was oversubscribed by more than five times, and supplies ran out on the first day of issue.

These coins have remained a firm favourite with collectors, partially due to the high production standards of the bullion coins from The Perth Mint.

Obverse

The Jody Clark portrait of Queen Elizabeth II appears on the obverse of the coin. The text reads:-

Reverse

The design on the reverse of the kookaburra coins changes most years. The 2021 coin features a kookaburra sitting on the branch of a gum tree. Leaves and seedpods appear in front of it.
