The 2021 15 Gram Gold Panda coins are struck from 24 carat (0.999 fine) gold and have a face value of 200 Yuan. Each gold bullion coin contains fifteen grams (0.48226 troy ounces) of the precious metal.

Panda coins are popular with collectors as the reverse design changes each year. The 2021 coin features a mother and baby panda on a tree branch.

These coins have a maximum mintage of 600,000.

Troy Weights vs Metric Weights

Most global mints issue bullion coins in troy weights, however, the People's Bank of China have used metric weights since 2016.

Demand for the Chinese Panda is not limited to the home market in China. Collectors eagerly await the release of Pandas each year and older issues are highly prized.

Obverse

The obverse was designed by the China Gold Coin Incorporation (CGCI) and shows the Temple of Heaven. Located in Peking, the site of worship is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Chinese inscription for "People's Republic of China" appears above the coin, with the date "2021" underneath.

Reverse

The reverse was designed by coin artist Tong Fang. It shows a mother and baby panda on a tree branch. The coin denomination of 200 Yuan is featured to the right of the pandas.
