What Was The Gold Bullion Coin Act of 1985

In 1985 the Gold Bullion Coin Act of 1985 was passed that allowed the American gold eagle to quickly become one of the world's most favourite bullion coins.

USA Gold

The USA Gold market is arguably the biggest in the world. The US Mint released the bullion Eagle series in 1986 to meet the ever increasing demand for this kind of bullion within the United States.

Obverse

The Obverse of this Eagle coin was designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, an Irish born American Sculptor.

We see Adolphs depection of Lady Liberty with her Torch in one hand and Olive branch in another, whilst standing in the centre of 50 Stars representing each state in America.

Inscribed we see:

The reverse of this coin was designed by American Sculptor/Cheif Engraver of the United States mint (til 2010).

The reverse inscription reads:
