2021 Two Ounce Gold Proof Britannia.

This 2021 gold proof Britannia features a stunning new design on the reverse by P.J. Lynch. It shows Britannia seated with a lion, reminiscent of William Wyon's Una and the Lion design

The coin was sold out within a few minutes on release and has a limited presentation of 50 pieces. This is the the first issue of a gold Britannia in a 2 ounce weight.

One was sold in June 2021 in the London Coin auctions for £8190 including buyer fee (lot 254).

This 2 oz gold proof coin is struck in 999.9 fine gold. It comes in a wooden presentation box and is accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity from The Royal Mint. Maximum coin mintage of 103 according to the certificate.

Obverse

The obverse features Jody Clark's portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II and is inscribed:

Reverse

The reverse features a new bespoke design by P.J. Lynch and features a seated Britannia holding her shield and trident in her left hand with a lion seated on her right.
