2020 James Bond Aston Martin Silver Proof Half Ounce Coin. This coin is the first release in the 007 James Bond Series of coins from The Royal Mint. Another two coins will be issued later in the year.

This silver proof coin is struck from 0.999 fine silver and has a face value of £1. Only 15,017 of the coins have been minted.

The coin comes presented in a box, accompanied by a James Bond booklet.

007 James Bond

James Bond was created by British author Ian Fleming. Bond first appeared in the 1953 novel, Casino Royale. The first Bond film, Dr No, was released in 1962. It was based on the sixth James Bond novel of the same name.

Six actors have played the British spy; Sean Connery, David Niven, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig.

The 25th James Bond film, entitled No Time To Die, is released in 2020, making this the perfect time for The Royal Mint to issue their series of James Bond coins.

Obverse

The obverse of the coin is the fifth coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. This was designed by Jody Clark.

Reverse

The reverse of the coin shows Bond's iconic car, an Aston Martin DB5. It was designed by graphic designers, Christian Davies and Matthew Dent.

The coin features an "0" which when placed together with the other coins in the series will say "007".
