This coin commemorates the end of World War II after Germany's unconditional surrender on 8th May 1945.

Struck in .917 fine/22-carat gold, this coin is numbered 14 of only 15 coins issued.

Contains 4.58 troy ounces of gold.

VE Day

On 8th May 2020 it will be the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day (VE Day), the day in which Nazi Germany formally surrendered in World War II. The war lasted for six years and caused major destruction, taking the lives of millions of people. When news of Germany's surrender was announced, celebrations spread throughout the country.

Obverse

The obverse features Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II.

Reverse

The reverse design by Mike Guilfoyle features a returning soldier standing in front of a balcony being waved on by the Royal Family and an excerpt from Churchill's VE-Day Speech. The coin is inscribed:
