Marking the anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe, this set features 7 gold proof 50p coins, all struck in 22-carat/0.916 fine gold.

VE Day

On 8th May 1945 the Allies formally accepted the unconditional surrender of the German military forces, bringing an end to World War II. Adolf Hitler committed suicide over a week before, and was succeeded by Karl Dönitz.

Upon hearing the news of Germany's surrender and the end of the war, celebrations erupted across the western world with an estimated one million people in the UK celebrating in the streets.

Obverse

The obverse features Jody Clark's effigy of HM Queen Elizabeth II.

Each coin depicts a design and letter reflecting during this important period:

I - Citizens of the Isle of Man celebrating victory

C - Soldiers shaking hands in Trafalgar Square

Cancellations & Returns:
Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
