2019 Yale of Beaufort Queen's Beasts One Kilogram Silver Proof Coin.

This 1 kg silver coin is part of The Royal Mint's Queen's Beasts Series. Only 120 of these coins have been minted, with a limited edition presentation of just 90 coins.

This 1 kilo silver coin is struck to a proof finish from 0.999 fine silver. Both sides of the coin were designed by Royal Mint artist, Jody Clark. The coin has a diameter of 100mm, allowing you to see the full details of the design.

The coin comes in a presentation box, along with a booklet and a numbered certificate of authenticity.

Yale of Beaufort

A Yale is a mythical animal, said to be the size of an elephant, with a goat-like body, and the tusks and horns of a boar.

The Queen's Beasts are a series of ten statues that were created for Elizabeth II's coronation at Westminster Abbey in 1953. They combine heraldic elements and mythical creatures which form a part of the Queen's royal ancestry. The Royal Mint launched their Queen's Beasts bullion range in 2016. The first coin featured the Lion of England. The obverse and reverse of the Queen's Beasts coins were designed by Royal Mint engraver, Jody Clark.

The fifth coinage portrait of Elizabeth II features on the obverse of the coin, designed by Jody Clark. The reverse bears the inscription

The reverse was also designed by Jody Clark. It shows the Yale of Beaufort on top of a shield bearing the portcullis of Henry VII
