The Gruffalo was first published on 23rd March, 1999. It was written by playwright Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler. 

The book tells the story of a mouse and his journey through the forrest, scaring off dangerous animals with tales of the Gruffalo - a mythical monster who is half buffalo, half grizzly bear. Little does he know that the Gruffalo actually exists and he is about to come face to face with him. 

The popular children's story has sold over 13 million copies worldwide.

    These may have minor scratches or edge knocks, but this does not affect their value. Any coin sold for a value less than a 180% intrinsic is considered a bullion coin.

  • VAT:

    Investment gold products are VAT-free, while silver products include VAT.

  • Cancellations & Returns:

    Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
