This silver coin is struck to a proof condition and comes in a presentation box with a certificate of authenticity.

This is the first release in a new series of UK coins, each celebrating Innovation In Science.

This is the first official UK coin to celebrate physicist, Stephen Hawking.

Hawking's first book, A Brief History of Time, sold over 10 million copies. It was written for an audience without previous scientific knowledge. The book helped bring science to a new audience.

Obverse

The obverse of the coin is the Jody Clark portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, which was first introduced in 2015.

Reverse

The design on the reverse features a black hole. It was designed by Edwina Ellis, who also designed the UK £1 Bridge series of coins.

The image shows a black hole, with the text "STEPHEN HAWKING" above it.

Investment gold products are VAT-free, while silver products include VAT.
Cancellations & Returns:
Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
