2019 5 Ounce Gold Proof 50th Anniversary of the Concorde Flight - Jersey.

This coin commemorates Concorde's first supersonic flight on 1st October 1969. It is struck to a high quality proof finish in 22-carat / 0.917 fine gold.

This coin is numbered 01 of only 15 issued, making it a must have for rare coin collectors!

Concorde

Concorde was a British-French supersonic passenger jet that flew until 2003. Flying on Concorde was seen as a status symbol for many who aspired to be one of her passengers. The aircraft had a maximum speed which was more than twice the speed of sound. A typical flight from London to New York took less than three and a half hours. Concorde was withdrawn from flight on 24 October 2003.

Obverse

The obverse features Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II.

Reverse

The reverse features an image of a flying Concorde underneath a machmeter and showing the dates 1969-2019.
