This is the 10oz Silver Valiant Coin as issued by The Royal Mint. This is a bullion coin series, first introduced in 2018.

Each coin is struck from 999.9 fine silver and contains 10 troy ounces of silver. The coins are UK legal tender and exempt from capital gains tax.

A valiant is described as something courageous, fearless and brave so it's fitting that the patron Saint of England, St George, appears on the reverse of the coin.

The valiant coins were launched in 2018 as the first incuse UK bullion coin. The design has changes slightly this year and features a border around the St George Design, with a guilloche background.

Obverse

The obverse was designed by Jody Clark and features the fifth coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, set against a guilloche background.

Reverse

The reverse was designed by the renowned British sculptor, Etienne Millner. It shows St George, depicted on horseback, slaying the dragon with a spear. It has a guilloche background to protect the coin from marks and blemishes.

The text appears on a plain border and reads: "10oz FINE SILVER 999.9 2019"

Bullion Coins:
These may have minor scratches or edge knocks, but this does not affect their value. Any coin sold for a value less than a 180% intrinsic is considered a bullion coin.
VAT:
Investment gold products are VAT-free, while silver products include VAT.
Cancellations & Returns:
Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
