The 2018 Gold Proof 65th Anniversary of the Coronation Fifty Pence Coin Set.

This set commemorates the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's coronation on 2nd June 1953. The coins are struck in 22-carat fineness and the set contains a total of 2.2824 troy ounces of pure gold.

Issued by the Isle of Man, this set is number 14 of only 65 issued.

Queen Elizabeth II

Princess Elizabeth was formally crowned Queen on 2nd June 1953, 14 months after the death of her father King George VI.

The coronation was the first to be televised and took over a year to prepare. Over 3 million spectators gathered in London's streets to watch the procession with some having camped out overnight.

2018 marks the 65th anniversary of the Queen's coronation making her the first British monarch to reach the milestone. Her great-great grandmother reigned for over 63 years.
