This 2018 Gold Proof 0.25oz Red Drago is part of the Queen's Beasts collection.

This coin is issued in a proof condition and comes in a box with a numbered certificate of authenticity. The coin has a face value of £25 and is struck from 999.9 (24 carat) gold. It contains 1/4oz of the precious metal.

The coin is supplied in a wooden presentation box, with a numbered certificate of authenticty. Only 2,500 of the coins were produced.

Red Dragon of Wales

The Queen's Beast series of coins by The Royal Mint is based upon the ten Queen's Beast statues, created for Queen Elizabeth II's coronation at Westminster Abbey in 1953 by James Woodford RA. Each beast represented the Queen's ancestry and combines mythical beasts and heraldry. These coins are British legal tender and exempt from Capital Gains Tax.

Obverse

The obverse shows the fifth coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.

Reverse

The reverse of the coin was also designed by Jody Clark and features the Red Dragon of Cadwaladr. The dragon is shown with its wings extended and holding the lion shield.
