This is the third coin to be released in the Royal Mint's Queen's Beasts bullion coin series. This quarter ounce gold coin features the Red Dragon of Wales on the reverse. The previous coins issued were the Lion of England and the Griffin of Edward III.

These are sold as an investment product.

Red Dragon of Wales

The Queen's Beast series of coins by The Royal Mint is based upon the ten Queen's Beast statues, created for Queen Elizabeth II's coronation at Westminster Abbey in 1953 by James Woodford RA. Each beast represented the Queen's ancestry and combines mythical beasts and heraldry. These coins are British legal tender and exempt from Capital Gains Tax.

Obverse

The obverse shows the fifth coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.

Reverse

The reverse of the coin was also designed by Jody Clark and features the Red Dragon of Cadwaladr. The dragon is shown with its wings extended and holding the lion shield.

VAT:
Investment gold products are VAT-free, while silver products include VAT.
Cancellations & Returns:
Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
