2018 65th Anniversary of the Coronation Jersey Gold Proof £5 Coin.
This gold proof £5 coin celebrates the Sapphire Anniversary (65 years) of Queen Elizabeth II's Coronation. Struck from 0.917 fine gold (22 carat), this gold coin contains just over 1.176 troy ounces of the precious metal.
This Jersey gold coin is struck to a proof finish and is issued in a wooden presentation box.
Only 95 of these coins issued. The coin we have in stock is number 17.
The reverse design is based on St Edward's Crown. Completed in 1661, the crown weighs 4lb 12oz, sits 12" tall and is made of 22 carat gold.
Elizabeth II became the Queen of the United Kingdom on 6th February, 1952. She was not officially crowned until 2nd June, 1953.
The obverse features Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II and is inscribed:

The reverse was designed by Ron Rundo and features the Coronation Crown with a rose in the background. The EIIR monogram appears on the right. The text reads:
