The Avro Vulcan was a pioneering jet-powered strategic bomber which held as the backbone of Britain's Cold War nuclear deterrent. The bomber operated from 1956 to 1984 and famously participated in the Operation Skyshield war games, in which it successfully slipped through the US radar screen protecting New York City before performing notional nuclear bomb drops.

Royal Air Force

The Royal Air Force was formed on 1st April, 1918. It was formed at the end of World War I from the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service. 

 

Since its formation, the RAF has played a vital role in British military history, the most famous being The Battle of Britain, in which the Royal Air Force in combination with the Royal Navy, Fleet Air Arm and Royal Canadian Air Force defended the British Isles with the legendary Hawker Hurricane and Supermarine Spitfire planes.

    These may have minor scratches or edge knocks, but this does not affect their value. Any coin sold for a value less than a 180% intrinsic is considered a bullion coin.

  • VAT:

    Investment gold products are VAT-free, while silver products include VAT.

  • Cancellations & Returns:

    Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
